Pian River and Kidepo Valley
While Western Uganda is characterized by large wetlands, lakes and rainforests, northeastern Uganda is the complete opposite. Here are some of the most isolated reserves and national parks in the entire country, but still perhaps the best area to travel to if you want to see the classic animals of Africa. This is truly an incredibly beautiful area. This program can be combined with gorilla tracking in Western Uganda. In addition, one can also incorporate Murchison Falls National Park which is located in the northwest of the country.

Right after a good breakfast we continue to the Pian Upe reserve, only an hour away. What is so great about Uganda is that it always has new gems to offer. One such shining diamond is the Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve located in the northeast of the country. Although the area does not contain elephants or lions (they occasionally visit), there is a healthy population of cheetah and the only population of Roan antelope in the country.

In this game reserve we have very good chances of seeing cheetah, actually 80% chance. There are also leopard, wild dog, civet, serval, hyena, aardwark, dikdik, klipspringer, kudu, topi, eland, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, kob, waterbuck, duiker etc. etc. The bird list is over 240 species.

After a short morning game drive we drive out of the park to the village of Kobulin. The drive takes about five hours, and once there we are welcomed to the Alakara Guest House in true village style. Here we relax and enjoy a delicious dinner around the campfire under the stars.
Day 10
Okra Farm
We spend the day at Alakara Guest House. There are opportunities for various activities here for those who want more than just relaxing. We recommend a guided tour of the village, and maybe you would like to help bring the cows in from pasture in the evening? Otherwise we enjoy good food, fresh fruit and a brilliant starry sky around the campfire when the evening comes!
