What to expect from such a trip

Virunga National Park: Rwanda and Congo

Virunga is the oldest national park in Africa and the first on the World Heritage List. This is one of the places on the planet with the greatest biodiversity, but at the same time one of Africa's most endangered ecosystems. WWF has been active in Virunga since 1994 and from 1987 seriously strengthened its foothold through projects such as the Programme Environnemetal Programme autor des Virunga and the International Gorilla Conservation Program. The latter in collaboration with the African Wildlife Foundation and Fauna and Flora International. From 2000, significant funding was received through the EU, USAID and other donors, which has made it possible to resume conservation work in Virunga National Park.
